My boyfriend and I recently had the chance to have a meal at The Deck in Milson's Point. The Deck is a family friendly restaurant attached to Luna Park and has stunning views of Sydney Harbour, the bridge and panning across to the Anzac Bridge.
Our first impressions were promising with friendly and inviting staff and the venue itself is modern and chic. There are plenty of options on the menu including gluten free, vegetarian and a kids menu that caters to fussy eaters.
We had a chicken teriyaki skewers with tzatziki starter which was delicious. The contrast between teriyaki and tzatziki was wonderful. We followed this up with an entree of oysters on a bed of salt with rocket - a light, and fresh start to dinner.
For mains we had had Beef short rib with beetroot & the Pork belly. The beef was succulent, fell apart in my mouth, and worked well with the beetroot a side of Chinese broccoli and potato. My partner had the Pork belly and he said it tasted heavenly with a pomegranate and cauliflower side. The Pomegranate mix gave it an amazing sweet taste that went well with the crispy pork.
We couldn't say no to dessert and had the flourless chocolate cake and The Deck Snickers. The Chocolate cake came with orange flavoured sauce, chilli chocolate, raspberry coulis and creme fraiche. Lovely flavours that work well together. My partner tried The deck snickers which has a hard shell which broke open to reveal a creamy, sweet, tasty centre. Worked well with the raspberry coulis which cut through the sweetness of the dish.
All of our meals were beautifully presented. We also recommend the cocktail range. Our favourites were the spiced ginger cocktail which is strong, warming and is reminiscent of Christmas, or the Spiced Mai Tai with a nice mix of pineapple and Rum.
• Beautiful venue
• Views that cannot be described in words and our photos don't do justice
• 1st class food
• Unique location (attached to Luna Park)
• Staff are friendly
• Food was delivered in reasonable intervals
• Atmosphere was intimate, fun and chilled out/relaxed.
The Deck also offers princess high tea birthday parties for younger girls which you can add ride passes to for added entertainment.
